Declare what’s inside the package. This information is used to calculate insurance coverage if you choose to add it at the next step.

Adding items

For each item in the shipment, provide:
  • Item description — a plain-language description of what the item is (e.g. “t-shirt”, “phone case”, “ceramic mug”)
  • Quantity — the number of units of that item
  • Estimated unit value — the approximate value per unit in CAD
You can add multiple items to a single shipment. For example, a package containing 2 t-shirts and 1 hoodie would be listed as two separate line items.

Declared value and insurance

The total declared value from all items is used to calculate the cost of shipment insurance at the add-ons step. Even if you don’t plan to add insurance, accurate values help in the event of a loss or damage claim.
Declared values are for insurance purposes only and are not submitted to customs. Domestic Canada shipments do not require customs declarations.
