Publication Service is a shipping option built for flat, lightweight media — magazines, books, CDs, vinyl records, calendars, booklets, and similar printed or thin-format items. It’s priced separately from Standard, Express, and Rush, so you’re not paying parcel rates for something that isn’t a parcel.
What qualifies
A shipment qualifies for Publication Service when it fits within these limits:
Anything above or outside these dimensions falls under our standard parcel pricing rates instead of the Publication rate.
Dimensions are checked first. If your package exceeds any side of the 14 × 14 × 1.5 in limit, it won’t qualify for Publication Service even if the weight is under 1.5 lbs.
Availability
Publication Service is available for Canada-domestic shipments only — it isn’t available for cross-border or U.S.-domestic shipments. Same-day delivery isn’t offered for Publication shipments.
Publication Service is currently only available when you create a shipment manually in the UniUni Platform. It isn’t supported yet through the REST API, CSV import, Shopify, or WooCommerce.
Selecting Publication Service
When you create a shipment manually, choose Publication as the service type at the postage step. The rate shown reflects the dedicated Publication pricing — not Standard or Express rates — so review it before confirming.
Protection
Publication shipments include tracking. If you want coverage against loss or damage, you can add Parcel Protection the same way you would on any other shipment.
Finding Publication shipments
Publication shipments show their service type in your shipments list, and you can filter the list down to just Publication shipments.
