How to handle shipment returns for Canada-origin shipments destined for Canadian addresses.
Shipping to the USA? Returns work differently there. See United States.
For Canadian shipments being returned to a Canadian address, merchants can create a return label addressed to themselves and provide that label file to the recipient — but only if the recipient is able to drop off at a UniUni location. Before issuing any label, confirm the recipient’s proximity to an available drop spot.
UniUni does not offer carrier pickup for return shipments. The recipient must physically drop off the package at a UniUni location. Do not provide the return label until you have confirmed this is possible.
Reach out to the recipient and ask for their current address or location so you can assess drop-off feasibility.
2
Check for a nearby drop spot
Use the UniUni Location Finder to search for drop spots near the recipient’s location. You can also read more about location types on the Drop-off Locations page.
3
Confirm the recipient can drop off
Verify the recipient is willing and able to visit a nearby UniUni location. If no drop spot is within reach, a return cannot be completed at this time.
4
Create a return label
In the UniUni Platform, create a new shipment addressed to yourself (the merchant) as the destination. Complete the shipment details and purchase the label.
5
Download and share the label
Download the label file and send it to the recipient. Instruct them to print the label, attach it securely to the package, and drop it off at the nearest UniUni location.
The recipient must ensure the new label is the only scannable identifier on the package. Before dropping off, they should place the new label over — or fully remove — any previous labels, QR codes, barcodes, or other markings unrelated to this return. Failure to do so may result in the package being misrouted or undeliverable.
