# Filing a Claim

> How to file a Parcel Protection claim through EasyPost for lost or damaged shipments

Claims are handled directly through EasyPost. If your protected shipment is lost or damaged, follow these steps:

1. **Wait for the claim window to open** — claims become eligible **3 business days after the delivery date**.
2. **Submit your claim within 30 days** — the claim window closes 30 days after it opens. Claims submitted outside this window will not be accepted.
3. **File via EasyPost** — visit the [EasyPost claim form](https://app.easypost.com/claim-form) and complete all required fields.

  Have your UniUni tracking number, proof of value (invoice or receipt), and any supporting photos ready before starting your claim.

## Claim outcomes

Once your claim is submitted, EasyPost reviews it and communicates the outcome. Possible results include:

| Status                                          | Description                                           |
| ----------------------------------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------- |
| <Badge color="blue">Claim submitted</Badge>     | Your claim has been received and is queued for review |
| <Badge color="yellow">In review</Badge>         | EasyPost is actively reviewing your claim             |
| <Badge color="green">Approved</Badge>           | Claim approved for the full protected amount          |
| <Badge color="green">Approved (partial)</Badge> | Claim approved for a portion of the protected amount  |
| <Badge color="yellow">Action needed</Badge>     | Additional documentation required from you            |
| <Badge color="red">Rejected</Badge>             | Claim was denied                                      |
| <Badge>Claim cancelled</Badge>                  | The claim was cancelled                               |

Approved claim payouts are applied either as a **wallet credit** on your UniUni account or as a **direct payment**, depending on how your claim is processed.
